Pikeville, KY – The University of Pikeville men's basketball team beat Appalachian Bible College Friday evening, 142-56 in the Appalachian Wireless Arena. Eight Bears scored double-digits in the contest, with
Kevin Bishop II leading the way with 21 points, going 9-10 from the field. The other seven were
Taevon Horton (20),
Kenyon Duling (18),
Avery Martinez (17),
Taeron Hogg (16),
Malik Malone (15),
Maurice Dickson (14), and
Darius Love (10). Bishop had a team-high nine rebounds while Duling led the team with six assists.
After the win, the Bears return to action on Thursday for their Mid-South Conference opener at home against Campbellsville University.
UPIKE raced out to a 26-7 lead in the first half and never looked back, leading 68-33 at the break. The second half delivered 74 points for the Bears, as they knocked down eight threes during the second frame.
