Bowling Green, KY – On Tuesday afternoon, the Mid-South Conference named their 2021 men's soccer season awards, and the Bears had one player named.
Junior midfielder
Yuri Rocha was named Honorable Mention after a season that saw him record two points on one goal. His one goal was a clutch one for UPIKE, as he scored the game-winner for the Bears in overtime against Tennessee-Southern in the 102nd minute of their 2-1 victory.
The goal saw
Javier Pozas send a free kick beautifully into the box before
Favio Govea headed it to Rocha who came in like a rocket and headed it into the back of the net for the win. Rocha took seven shots this season with two on goal and was also named Academic All Mid-South Conference on Friday afternoon.
This is the first men's soccer player to be named All-Conference since Anibal Navarro was named Second Team in 2019.
