Pikeville, KY – The University of Pikeville men's basketball team returned to the court Saturday afternoon in the UPIKE Gym, handling the Appalachian Bible College Warriors, 110-69. They also bested the Warriors earlier in the season, 142-56.
Kevin Bishop II led a group of four Bears in scoring double-digits, with a season-high 23 points.
Jacob Brown scored a season-high 19 while
Maurice Dickson added a season-high 16 and
Avery Martinez had 15 for UPIKE.
Darius Love led the Bears with nine rebounds while
Kenyon Duling tied a season-high six assists.
The win improves UPIKE to 9-1 on the season as they return to Mid-South Conference play on Thursday when they head to Shawnee State University.
The Bears jumped all over the Warriors in the first half, taking a 25-7 lead less than 10 minutes into the contest. UPIKE had an array of different players contribute to the advantage. The lead grew to as many as 29 in the first half, after a Brown layup made it 50-21. This capped off an impressive 25-14 run. UPIKE would take a 58-29 lead into the break.
In the second half, the Bears lead continued to expand, as they led 81-45 with 12:44 to play in the game. UPIKE would lead by as many as 45 in their eventual 110-69 victory.

This is the third time the Bears have scored 100 or more points this season and second time they have scored 110 points. UPIKE continues to make it tough on opponents at home this season, holding a 7-0 record in Pikeville.
