Burbridge, Reed, Englert, and Feltner Claim MSC All-Conference Honors

Bowling Green, KY -UPIKE women's basketball had four Bears earn MSC yearly awards for the 2020-21 season, released conference officials on Friday morning. Brianna Burbridge was named to the MSC Women's Basketball First-Team, Alexis Reed earned a second-team nod while teammates Mary Englert and Sierra Feltner made honorable mention.

Burbridge's 2020-21 MSC First-Team selection is the second of her career, with her first coming in her sophomore campaign. Burbridge has earned yearly honors in three seasons, adding a second-team nod a season ago. This season has seen Burbridge continue to build on an already impressive resume, surpassing 1,000 points, recording a season-high 229 rebounds, leading the Bears in both categories. The senior has averaged a double-double with 15.9 points and 10.9 rebounds per contest, notching single-game career highs in both categories (points - 26 vs Campbellsville, rebounds – 19 vs Lindsey Wilson.

Alexis Reed has stepped up in a big way for Coach Williams' squad this season, totaling 264 points with an average of 12.57 per game. Reed recorded a new career high single-game point total against Midway early in the season, dropping 22 points in a performance that featured four threes and the junior hitting 9-12 shots from the floor. The Maysville, KY native holds the highest 3PT percentage on the team at 44%, which ranks in the top 20 nationwide. Reed's Second-Team All-MSC selection is the first yearly award of her career.

Mary Englert adds her second All-MSC award, her first coming in 2019-20 where she was named to the second-team. The Madeira, OH native has proven to be one of the most important assets to the Bears' success this season, showcasing her versatile skillset and her uncanny ability to deliver in key moments. Englert currently sits with 890 career points as a junior, 228 of those coming this season. The G/F has connected on 46 of 64 free-throw attempts this season for a 71% clip. On Tuesday, Englert notched a single-game career high 28 points in the Bears win against Cumberland to advance to the MSC quarterfinals.

Sierra Feltner joined Englert on the honorable mention list in the midst of a season where the junior is averaging just over 11 points per contest. The Williamsburg native has put in a team-high 701 minutes this season, averaging 33.4 per contest. Feltner has been a deep threat for the Bears as well this season, draining 31 threes on the season. The guard also leads the team in assists by a long shot with 73.
