Huntsville, AL - The University of Pikeville women's soccer team moved to 3-1 on the season Saturday night when they took down Oakwood University on the road 16-0. Ten different Bears scored in the game with
Isabella Caldwell and
Mya Holmes both recording hat tricks in the contest. Overall, four Bears had multiple goals in the game. Holmes recorded her second hat trick this week after scoring all three goals in UPIKE's 3-2 victory over Midway University earlier in the week.
After the win, UPIKE is scheduled to be back in action next Saturday, September 18th when they host the University of Cincinnati-Clermont for their home opener at the Bob Amos Grass Field.
Dazzling First Half
Holmes got the scoring started for UPIKE in the first half before Caldwell netted her first career goal to make it 2-0. Holmes and Caldwell both added a second tally before
Ellie Webb scored the first goal of her career later in the half to make it 5-0.
Latasha Dalton scored the first goal of her career to send it to the break at 6-0.Â
Out of Reach
UPIKE continued to pour it on in the second half with a goal coming from
Kylie Maynard before
Emily Webb's first career goal made it 8-0.
Riley Collett then netted her first career goal to make it 9-0.
Caldwell, Maynard and Dalton all added extra tallies to their nights before
Christin Mitchell and
Adara Lee continued the theme of Bears scoring their first career goals.
Kylie Gollihue also tallied her third goal of the season in the second half. The final goal of the game came from Lee in the dominant 16-0 victory.
Elizabeth Lukens and
Jada Rice teamed up to pitch the Bears second shutout of the season over the Ambassadors.

UPIKE put 38 shots on goal in the game and seven Bears recorded the first goals of their UPIKE career Saturday night.
This is the first time the Bears have scored double-digit goals in a game since Sep. 5, 2016 when they beat Johnson University 10-0. It's the most goals they have scored in a game since they beat Tennessee Temple 18-0 on Aug. 25, 2009.
