Midway, KY – The University of Pikeville men's soccer team dropped to 0-2 Tuesday afternoon after a 5-0 loss to Midway University. The Eagles scored one goal in the first half and four in the second half. They outshot the Bears 16-9.
Juan Diego Medina had two shots on goal for the Bears to lead the way, as they put eight shots on frame in the contest.
In the first half, the Bears jumped on the keeper early with a shot from
Favio Govea coming on goal in just the second minute. However, UPIKE could only manage three more shots throughout the remainder of the half, with all of them being on frame. The Bears were hurt in the opening half by a pair of yellow cards and a few fouls.
During the second half, the Eagles scored two quick goals to take a 3-0 lead and hold the momentum. The Bears put four more shots on goal in the second half, but were not able to find the back of the net. Midway would add two more goals later in the half to take home the 5-0 victory.
