Bears Blanked By Tigers

Georgetown, Ky. - The University of Pikeville Bears traveled up the Mountain Parkway today to face the Georgetown Tigers and were defeated 4-0.

Georgetown came out firing early with  three shots on goal in the first thirteen minutes. The Tigers continued to have opportunities and finally broke through in the 22' to take a 1-0 lead. Just two minutes later in 24', the Tigers went up 2-0. Georgetown took advantage of another opportunity in the 29' and took a 3-0 lead. That lead would hold going into the half.

In the second half, the Tigers continued to pour on the shots and took a 4-0 lead in the 63'. While the Tigers took a lot of shots, the Bears recorded zero shots in the final 45 minutes. Shots on goal for the game were 13-2 in favor of Georgetown.

Elizabeth Lukens made her seventh start of the season in net for UPIKE and saved 9 of the 13 shots she faced. The Bears have now lost four in a row, and their record drops to 3-8-1 (0-4 MSC) on the year. UPIKE will hit the pitch again against Cumberland (Tenn.) on Tuesday night at Bob Amos.
