Goodlettsville, Tenn. - The UPIKE Bears had an excellent three-round showing at the Music City Fall Invitational where they finished second out of eleven teams.
After placing third in the East Tennessee Collegiate Invitational last weekend, the Bears captured their fifth top-2 finish of the season today. As a team, the Bears improved in each round of the tournament. UPIKE shot a 326 in round one, a 319 in round two and then saved their best performance for last. The Bears shot a 310 on round three, just two behind the first-placed team for the round.
UPIKE has also had at least one player finish with all-tournament honors in all six tournaments this season. Renee Crooks finished with all-tournament honors for the fifth time. Crooks also finished in first place for the fourth time this season. Crooks shot a 73 in round three, highlighted on the 16th hole where she recorded a three-shot eagle on a par five. Crooks also had the best stats on par fours, leading the tournament with 4.23 stroke average.
Carly Crooks finished in 7th place and closed out the tournament with four birdies in round three. Sophie Beverly shot a 76 in round three, which ties her personal-best which she set in the Alice Lloyd Invitational in September of 2021.
The Bears get a short break before the Mid-South Conference Fall Invitational in Bowling Green, Ky. on October 24th and 25th.
