Bears Wrap Up Season After Falling To Tigers

Campbellsville, Ky. - The 2022 UPIKE men's soccer season came to an end tonight after the Campbellsville Tigers defeated the Bears 5-0 in the first round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament. 

Campbellsville got on the board early in this one, taking a 1-0 lead in the 3'. Thivesh Naiker had a good opportunity in the 13' but could not slip the shot past the goaltender. The Tigers responded with a flurry of shots between the 15' and the 20' before going up 2-0 in the 22'. Campbellsville would add another in the 38' and UPIKE went into the half trailing 3-0. 

UPIKE's offense recorded five second-half shot attempts, including shots on goal by Thivesh Naiker, Daron Baumann and Anthony Aguilar. Unfortunately, none of the aforementioned shots found the back of the net. The Tigers added two late goals and took the match 5-0. 

The Bears' 2022 season comes to a close following tonight's loss. Shaun Schetka wraps up his second season as head coach of UPIKE men's soccer and continues to move the program forward.
