Louisville, Ky. – UPIKE men's bowling claimed the program's fifth win this season over the weekend at the NAIA Louisville Invitational. The Bears defeated 11 teams, and
Bryce Oliver was crowned individual champion.
The event was the first NAIA Invitational for bowling and was held at Fern Valley Strike & Spare in Louisville. The format consisted of 16 baker games followed by five team games.
UPIKE totaled 8275 pins, besting UT-Southern by 16 pins. The key performance for the Bears came in the team games, as the Bears entered day two in second place with 3221 pins in baker play. The Bears' performance in the team games bested all but UT-Southern, and secured them the tournament title.
Oliver continued his impressive junior campaign, taking his fourth win this season. The Ohioan dropped 1117 pins in team play, averaging 223.4 pins per game. Oliver trumped runner-up Zac Brehm of Baker by 34 pins.
Dylan Mishak delivered his best performance of the season, finishing ninth. Mishak totaled 1028 pins with his best game coming in at 246 pins.
