Boulder City, NV – UPIKE women's golfer Boo Newsome played in the Las Vegas Shootout over the past two days at Boulder City Golf Course in Nevada. Newsome was one of 12 individuals in the tournament while there were 11 teams participating. Oklahoma City University won the tournament with a team score of 596.

Newsome finished the tournament in 20th place out of a field of 64. She shot an 83 in round one yesterday before finishing today with a round of 79 to finish the tournament with a 162-overall score.

Newsome and the Bears begin their spring season next month on March 26th and 27th in Richmond, KY for the ALC Spring Invite at Battlefield Golf Course. UPIKE will be looking to win the tournament for the second straight season after a dominant performance last year. Newsome won medalist honors in the tournament last season.
