Pippas Passes, KY – Bears baseball lost their second straight on Wednesday evening, dropping 9-8 to Alice Lloyd. The Eagles crossed the winning run on a wild pitch in the final frame.

Ryan Ratliff manned the bump for the Bears and offered 4.1 innings of work, giving up five runs on five hits, striking out a pair. Nolan Fernandes went 3.2 innings in relief and allowed four runs on four hits and picked up the loss, making his record 1-1 on the season.

At the plate it was Tyler Freas who led the charge, knocking two doubles to go 3-5 and scored a pair of runs. Ryan Sartin and Tyler Maynard went 2-5 with Sartin adding a run scored. Cam Revolt blasted his first triple of the season in the second inning, later scoring the Bears first run.

Demarco Miller changed that quickly in the top of the sixth frame, smoking a two-run homerun to left center. The knock is the second of Miller's career.

The Eagles scratched two more in the sixth to take an 8-6 lead they would hold until the final inning.
