Georgetown, KY – Bears baseball closed the book on the 2022 season Friday afternoon, falling 4-2 in game three of the MSC Opening Round series with Georgetown.
Ryan Ratliff delivered 7.2 innings in a start that saw him allow four runs (3E) on eight hits to pick up the loss.
Nolan Fernandes finished out the game with the final out.
The Bears totaled nine hits, led by
Noah Helton and
Eduardo Bello who each tagged a pair. Bello went 2-4 with an RBI while Helton finished 2-4.
Demarco Miller connected for the sole extra-base hit in the contest with a double.
Georgetown put up a pair of runs in the first two innings before the Bears plated their first in the top of the third via Bello's RBI which scored Freas. Sartin scored the Bears second run in the sixth, drove in by
Jared Kirkman's single which made it a one-run ballgame.
The Bears knocked two more hits in the seventh but weren't able to cross a run. The Tigers scored once more in the bottom of the eighth frame which would be the last run of the ballgame.
