Bowling Green, KY – The University of Pikeville women's golf team is in sixth place after day one at the Mid-South Conference Championships, hosted by Bowling Green Country Club. The Bears shot 660 (326, 334) as a team. There is one more round to play tomorrow.

Boo Newsome finished the day in a tie for 10th place after a 155 (76, 79). She finished the day with two birdies. Sophie Beverly is in a tie for 21st at 160 (81, 79) and made one birdie. Gabriel Blankenship is in 35th with a score of 172 (86, 86), while also carding a birdie. Emily Brown sits in a tie for 36th at 173 (83, 90) and made one birdie. Emily Bechtel is in a tie for 50th after shooting 194 (98, 96), and carding one birdie.

As mentioned, the Bears finish up the tournament tomorrow afternoon and will look to move up the leaderboard.
