Bowling Green, KY – The University of Pikeville women's golf team finished up the Mid-South Conference Championships Tuesday afternoon in sixth place. They shot 992 as a team (326, 334, 332), which is the fifth best 54-hole score in program history. The event was hosted by the Bowling Green Country Club.
Boo Newsome led the team individually, jumping five spots from yesterday and finishing in a tie for 5th place. She shot a 73 this afternoon and finished the tournament with an overall score of 228 (76, 79, 73). Newsome made a pair of birdies today and finished the tournament with four.
Sophie Beverly moved up one spot after shooting an 83 today. She finished in a tie for 20th with a 243 (81, 79, 83). This ties her best 54-hole score this season. She carded one birdie during the tournament.
Gabriel Blankenship shot her third straight 86 this afternoon to move up one spot into a tie for 34th at 258 (86, 86, 86). This is her best 54-hole score this season. She finished the tournament with one birdie.
Emily Brown finished in 38th with a score of 263 (83, 90, 90). This is her best 54-hole score this season. She made two birdies today and finished with three during the tournament.
Emily Bechtel finished in 50th with a score of 293 (98, 96, 99). She made one birdie during round two yesterday.
