Wilmore, Ky. - The Bears hit the road to Wilmore, Kentucky and were defeated 3-0 by the Asbury University Eagles tonight.
Asbury went out on the attack early in this one and attempted ten first half shots. Despite the flurry of shots, the Bears defense and goalie Adam Di Millo held the Eagles scoreless through halftime.
The Eagles continued to pepper Di Millo and the Bears defense with shots in the second half and eventually broke the scoreless tie in the 67'. The Eagles knocked in another goal three minutes later and the Bears trailed 2-0 in the 70' minute. The third and final Asbury goal was scored in the 82' and the Eagles took this one 3-0.
Shots on goal were 10-4 in favor of the Asbury Eagles, as were the total shots at 19-6. The Bears struggled to find scoring chances in the first half of this one and only had one shot on goal during the first 45 minutes. In the second half, however, the Bears found more rhythm and fired five shots. Daron Baumann led the UPIKE attack in shots on goal with two on the night.
The Bears record falls to an even 3-3 on the year following tonight's loss. Next up for the Bears are the Alice Lloyd Eagles on Thursday in Pippa Passes, Ky. at 6 p.m.
