Ave Maria, Fla. – Bears women's soccer fell 2-0 to Ave Maria on the road Saturday night, dropping the first of their two-game stand in Florida.
The Bears managed eight shots, putting four on frame.
Elizabeth Lukens warded off the Ave Maria attack, finishing with seven saves.
Cacia Larsen led the Bears with a trio of shots, almost putting the Bears on the board in the 62' and again in the 78'.
Brianna Fortman also challenged in the second half, opening the period with a shot on goal that was saved by the keeper. Ariel (Alix) Herter and
Amya Webb also managed shots in the contest, with Webb recording two.
The Bears defense held out through the first 25 minutes, before Ave Maria found net at the 25:32 mark. Less than 10 minutes later, the Gyrenes netted their second goal to go up 2-0.
A highlight moment for Lukens came in the 82' as she made a diving save to limit the Gyrenes advantage to two goals in the waning minutes.

Kylie Maynard made a solid challenge with a shot from 10 feet outside the box but was saved by the keeper.
