Columbia, Ky. - Following yesterday's game against Campbellsville, the Bears were on the road again tonight against the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders and were defeated 3-0.
Lindsey Wilson jumped out to an early 8-0 lead in the first set and the Bears were unable to overcome the early deficit. Cheyenne Martinez recorded a kill and two serving aces during the first set. The Bears hung in there early in the second set but then the Blue Raiders went on a 6-0 run and the Bears could not muster up a comeback. The Blue Raiders would go on to take the third set and won the match 3-0.
Daniela Hernandez led the Bears in kills with 7. Cheyenne Martinez had 18 assists to go along with her two serving aces. Martinez's 18 assists now gives her 293 on the season.
UPIKE's record falls to 4-14 (0-6 MSC) after tonight's loss. Next up for UPIKE is a home match against Cumberland University (Tenn.) on Friday afternoon.
