PIKEVILLE, Ky. – Senior forward
Brekel Tibbs scored two goals to lead the University of Pikeville past Union College on Saturday morning.

The win moved the Bears to 5-7-2 on the season and 4-4-2 in the AAC. Union fell to 3-10 overall, 3-7 in the league.

The Bears got on the scoreboard in the 12
th minute when sophomore forward
Julia Pinson found the net off a pass from senior
Abbie Hibbs to make it 1-0.

Later in the half, senior
Lillie Kluesner found senior forward
Brekel Tibbs in front of the net for a contested shot that cleared the Union keeper to make the score 2-0 in the 36
th minute.

In the second half, scoring began when
Kylie Ritter connected on a penalty kick in the 54
th minute. In the 65
th, Tibbs added her second goal off a pass from sophomore
Kiera Bailey. For Tibbs, she now has a team-best five goals this season.

Each team added goals in the closing minutes. Union's goal came off a kick after a foul when senior Yardley Polsen scored in the 84
th minute.

For the Bears, the final goal came off a penalty kick by Bailey in the 88
th.

UPike will be on the road, travelling to Reinhardt (Ga.) University on Wednesday at 1 p.m.

For Union, it remains on the road to face Tennessee Wesleyan at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
