WALESKA, Ga. – The University of Pikeville women's soccer team opened a three-game road trip, all against AAC opponents, with a 5-0 loss at Reinhardt University on Wednesday afternoon.

The Eagles wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, posting a goal in the sixth minute when senior midfielder Marta Vicente-Arche scored off a pass from Ryelyn Wells for what would prove to be the winning goal.

Wells followed it with a goal of her own in the 16
th minute without an assist. Before recess, Vicente-Arche scored her second goal, this one without help, in the 21
st minute.

The score was 3-0 at the break.

It only took four minutes for the Eagles to get on the scoreboard in the second half when Reese Wise found the net on a dish from junior Haley Sturla.

Wise added her second goal to close out scoring in the 64
th minute when she got a pass from Vicente-Arche.

The Bears managed only two shots on goal on the day, coming from senior midfielder
Brekel Tibbs and freshman defender
Anna Dudas. Both were turned away by junior goalkeeper Sarah Bambrick.

UPike (5-8-2 overall, 4-5-2 in the AAC) will be back in action on Friday when they travel to Laurenburg, N.C., to play St. Andrews University. That match will begin at 3 p.m.

Reinhardt, which improved to 10-4-1 on the season and 10-0-1 in the league, will travel to Bluefield College on Saturday morning for a 10 a.m. contest.
