PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The University of Pikeville used an 18-5 run in the middle of the second half to pull away and beat Lindsey Wilson College 82-60 on Saturday afternoon at Appalachian Wireless Arena.

In the final minute of play, UPike senior forward
Morgan Stamper reached a rare milestone when she pulled down her 14
th rebound of the day, giving her 1,000 for her career.

The win was UPike's eighth straight on the season and ran their record to 10-2. Lindsey slipped to 10-4 on the season.

The Bears led 48-41 with three minutes to play. Sophomore
Allie Stone hit a three-point basket and followed it with a layup. Jarie Thomas stemmed the tide with a three-point basket, but graduate student
Bailey Frazier and Stone hit back-to-back three-pointers.

Jordyn Stephens had a layup for the Raiders before Stamper hit a free throw to make the score 60-45 at the end of the period.

The fourth quarter started with a layup by senior
Rachel Bush, two more free throws by Stamper and a layin by senior
Julia Parker.

Parker's bucket came with 7:55 left in the game and pushed the Bears' lead to 66-45.

Stamper reached the milestone with an offensive rebound with only 20 seconds remaining in the game. The Independence native is also closing in on 1,000 career points, currently standing at 982.

Five Bears reached double digits, led by Bush and Stone with 17 each. Bush had seven rebounds while Stone handed out eight assists.

Frazier finished with 13 point, while senior
Bailey Birchfield tossed in 12 and Stamper added 10.

Lucy Patterson led the Blue Raiders with 16 points and nine rebounds. Thomas had 13 while Stephens tossed in 12.

UPike also won the rebounding battle 32-25 on a day it shot 14-for-27, 51.9 percent, from the arc.

Pikeville will travel to the University of Rio Grande on Tuesday at 1 p.m. The Bears will close out the pre-Christmas portion of the schedule with a matinée on Friday, when they host Oakland City (Ind.) University. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
