MONTREAT, N.C. – On the day graduate student
Bailey Frazier joined the 1,000-point club, the University of Pikeville ran its win streak to six games with a 71-65 win over Montreat College Saturday afternoon.

UPike (8-2 on the season, 6-2 in the AAC) got a career-high 27 points from sophomore guard
Allie Stone in a game it shot 18-of-20 from the free throw line.

After watching Montreat shoot 70 percent from the field in the first period to take a 17-14 lead, the Bears clamped down to hold the Cavaliers to 38.3 percent from the floor the rest of the game to pull away for the win.

That basket began a 15-0 run to push the Bears ahead for good. They hit 6-of-8 in the stretch and both three-point shots. Three steals kept the Cavs scoreless as they missed all eight shots, and when Frazier nailed a three with 5:36 to play in the half, UPike led 27-17.

Frazier, who needed nine points to reach the milestone, scored her 1,000
th point on a three-point basket with 7:25 left in the third period. She finished the game with 14 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Stamper joined her and Stone in double digits with 13 points and seven rebounds, hitting all seven of her free tosses. Freshman
Rachel Bush, who scored five points, led the Bears with nine rebounds as they outrebounded the Cavs 37-30.

Junior Virginia Edmondson led the Cavs with 23 points and matched teammate junior Vaniyah Petty with six rebounds. Junior Adrianna Gullette followed with 13 points while freshman Rymiah Sanders tossed in 10.

The Bears remain on the road Tuesday night when they travel to Bluefield to play the Rams. That game is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
