Elizabethton, Tenn. - UPIKE volleyball dropped their second consecutive match after falling to the Milligan Buffaloes 3-0 Tuesday night.
The match opened with the Bears and the Buffaloes splitting the first six points. Then, the Buffaloes scored eight of the next nine points to go up 11-4. Later in the set, the Bears found themselves trailing 16-6 before going on an 8-2 run to cut Milligan's lead to four. However, the early hole proved to be too much to overcome, and the Buffaloes took the first set 25-17.
Set two opened with Milligan going ahead 7-4 before going on a 10-0 run. UPIKE was unable to mount a comeback and dropped set two. The Buffaloes took the third set after runs of 4-0 and 6-0.
The Bears are 4-2 (1-2 AAC) after today's loss. UPIKE will stay on the road for a match with St. Andrews on Thursday night before coming back to Pikeville for a quad meet Saturday. The Bears will take on Salem University, Warren Wilson, and Virginia University of Lynchburg.
