PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The University of Pikeville placed five players in double figures and hit 43.3 percent of their three-point attempts as they beat Union College 104-55 on Wednesday night.

UPike (13-5 overall, 9-3 in the AAC) got 20 points from sophomore
India Blyth, who finished 6-of-9 from the arc on a night that UPike made 13-of-30 as a unit.

Union (2-16, 2-10), on the other hand, made only 4-of-20 on its three-point tries.

A three-point basket by junior Myleiysha Norman put Union on top 13-12, but that's when UPike took command. The Bears went on a 16-3 run, a stretch that saw six different players score. It was highlighted by an eight-second burst that saw senior
Bailey Birchfield hit a three, then pick up a steal and score on a layup.

It took only 3:52 for the Bears to turn it around and lead 28-16.

After a layup by junior Ja'Naia Moran stopped the run, the Bears scored eight more in a row. Freshman
Rachel Bush hit a three to end the first quarter. After the break, Blyth nailed a three and sophomore
Katie Collopy scored inside.

Overall, it was a 24-5 run, and when it ended, the Bears were on top 36-18.

A rebound and putback by Bush with four seconds left gave the Bears their biggest lead of the half, as they took a 61-28 advantage to the break.

Blyth was joined in double digits by Stone and Bush with 16 points each. Stone had 10 of the Bears' first 14 points while Bush pulled down eight rebounds.

Seniors
Julia Parker and
Morgan Stamper had 10 points each. Stamper led the Bears with nine rebounds as they outrebounded the Bulldogs 51-36.

Senior McKenzi Himes led the Bulldogs with 16 points. Senior Morgan Blakley followed with 10 points and led the team with eight rebounds.

UPike will be back in action on Saturday when it travels to Elizabethton, Tenn., to play Milligan University. Game time is slated for 2 p.m.
