Truett remains unbeaten in AAC with win at UPike

PIKEVILLE, Ky. – After a scoreless first half, Truett McConnell (Ga.) University pulled away for a 4-0 win over the University of Pikeville on Wednesday afternoon at Bob Amos Park.
 
Truett McConnell, which learned earlier in the day it is now ranked No. 23 in the country, is now 13-1-2 on the season, 12-0-1 in the AAC. UPike fell to 8-5-2 overall, 6-4-2 in the league.
 
The game was scoreless into the 58th minute when Eliska Dvorakova scored off a pass from Ruffa Meger. In the 73rd minute, an unassisted goal by Isabella Hodson pushed the score to 2-0.
 
Seven minutes later, Truett got a penalty kick goal from Ashley Johnson to make it 3-0.
 
In the 89th minute, an unassisted goal by Brianna Hernandez closed out scoring.
 
TMU finished with 10 shots on goal, with UPike senior Millie Conod recording six saves.
 
Emelie Taylor spent all 90 minutes in goal for Truett to record the win.
 
UPike will close out the regular season on Saturday when they visit Milligan (Tenn.) University. Game time is 3 p.m.
