The University of Pikeville athletics department has been brought to its collective knees with the tragic passing of
Kennadi Mollett.
Kennadi is a freshman cheerleader, a nursing major and a valued member of the campus community. Her absence will be felt with every class, game and residence hall gathering.
From Corey Fipps, director of athletics and head football coach:
I can't begin to express the sadness and grief we've felt since we found out about Kennadi's passing. She was a tremendous asset to our cheer team, the athletics department and the campus as a whole. We're stunned with this news.
At this point, our focus is to help her family, her cheer teammates and our student-athletes deal with and process this unthinkable loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of them, and we beg our alumni and fan base to keep them in your prayers through this unbelievable loss that is beyond our understanding.
