The University of Pikeville will host its annual Bear Awards on Sunday, May 4, and for the first time ever, they are making tickets available to our fans and the families of our student athletes to attend.
 
The event, an annual celebration of the accomplishments and achievements of our student athletes both on an off their respective fields of play, will be held at the Appalachian Wireless Arena in downtown Pikeville and is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
 
"We're very excited about this opportunity to allow our friends and family to be a part of this celebration of the many accomplishments of our department this year," said Corey Fipps, director of athletics and head football coach.
 
"We have some tremendously talented and successful students and look forward to celebrating them and all they've achieved, and we're very happy to be able to open this up to those who would like to attend as we celebrate what has been a tremendous year in athletics at UPike."
 
Tickets are available for $40 per person and must be purchased no later than April 20.
