Rachel Bush scored a career-high 25 points and junior guard
Allie Stone had a season best 26 as the University of Pikeville picked up a nice road win, 90-84, over Oakland City University.

Bush was very efficient in the game, scoring her points on 9-of-11 shooting from the field while making all seven of her free throws. She also had three rebounds and two blocked shots.

Stone hit 4-of-8 from the arc and went 8-of-10 from the line, adding four rebounds and three assists for good measure.

The game was played at a plodding pace, with 50 fouls resulting in 58 free throws between the clubs. UPike took advantage of it, finishing 25-of-28 (89.3 percent) from the line, while the Mighty Oaks sank 19-of-30 (63.3 percent).

The charity line, combined with hitting 9-of-20 (45 percent) from outside, allowed the Bears to survive the road environment and turning the ball over 18 times, compared to only 10 by the Oaks.

UPike (1-1) also shot it well from the floor in general, going 28-of-52 for a blistering 53.8 percent.

Bush and Stone were joined in double figures in the scoring column by sophomore wing
Alexis Moore, who came off the bench for 10 thanks to a 6-of-7 performance from the line.

The Bears won the rebounding battle as well 36-31, thanks to junior wing
Katie Collopy coming off the bench with 11 rebounds. She also had six points and three assists in the win.

Oakland City put three players in double figures, paced by Emilee Hope's 22. She was followed by junior Courtney Dove who fired in 16 thanks to 7-of-10 shooting from the field.

Junior guard Kyrisha Hay had 15 points while leading the team with seven rebounds and four steals. Marissa Austin played a solid game, scoring eight points while handing out six assists and grabbing four rebounds.

UPike will play its first home game of the season on Wednesday, starting play in the AAC by hosting Milligan (Tenn.) University. The game will be played at the UPike Gym and will tip off at 5:30.
