PIKEVILLE, Ky. – No. 3 Campbellsville University used a 30-point third quarter to turn the game around and beat the University of Pikeville 67-58 on Monday afternoon at the UPike Gym.

UPike (7-5) led 33-23 at the half, holding the Tigers to 37.0 percent shooting in the first half while shooting 48.1 percent itself.

Campbellsville (12-0), however, flipped the script in the third period. It shot 12-of-17 from the floor for 70.6 percent while holding the Bears to 4-of-12 (33.3 percent), outscoring its host 30-9 in the quarter.

The Tigers led 9-7 after Maddie Nalley scored on a layup with 3:14 left in the opening frame. The Bears then scored the next 10 points, going 4-for-4 including a pair of threes, and when
Paige Ayler scored on a layup with 1:23 left, they led 17-9.

For the remainder of the half, the teams traded scores, and when
Katie Collopy hit a free throw with 1:15 left in the second period, the Bears led 33-23 and took that advantage to the break.

Campbellsville came out of the half fired up and scored the first 11 points. Five different players scored and two free throws by Lauren Lee gave it a 34-33 lead after only 2:01 of the quarter.

UPike battled, and a jumper by
Allie Stone with 5:30 left tied the game at 40. But the Tigers scored the next eight points, and a layup by Talynne Shearer with 4:01 left put them on top 48-40.

The lead was 53-42 after the period.

The Bears had one more run in them. Trailing 61-48, they scored the next 10 points. And when
Alexis Moore nailed a three with 1:13 left, it was a three-point game at 61-58.

From there, the Tigers did what they needed to do, going 6-of-6 from the free throw line to seal the win.

Stone led UPike's balanced attack with 14 points while handing out six assists and taking five steals.
Rachel Bush had 13 to go with five rebounds and two blocks, while Moore had 12 points.

Campbellsville placed four players in double figures, with Tyra Flowers leading the way scoring 15 and pulling down seven rebounds. Shearer had 14 points, five assists and four rebounds, while Lee flipped in 12 to go with six assists and five rebounds.

Hallie Allen scored 10 and had four rebounds, three assists and three steals.

UPike will be on the road as it returns to league play for the remainder of the season, traveling to Columbia (S.C.) College on Saturday at 2 p.m.
