PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The University of Pikeville picked up its third win in a row, all against league competition, by knocking off Kentucky Christian University 80-51 on Wednesday night at the UPike Gym.

The Bears used a solid defensive effort to pull out the win, holding KCU to 28.2 percent shooting and 25 percent on three-point shots.

UPike (6-2, 5-1 in the AAC) hit 47 percent overall and 37.9 from outside to roll to the win.

The Bears scored the first six points and led 11-2 when junior
India Blyth sank a three with 5:29 to play in the opening period.

The Knights rallied, and when sophomore Aubrey Daulton scored on a layup with 2:08 to play they had cut the deficit to one, 13-12.

After a timeout, however, the Bears rang the nets for nine straight, and a three-point play by junior guard
Allie Stone gave them a double-digit lead for the first time at 22-12.

Stone led all scorers with 25 points, and late in the third period, moved past former teammate
Morgan Stamper to join the school's Top 20 on the career scoring list.

The Olive Hill native also had six assists and five rebounds on the evening.

Rachel Bush continued her torrid sophomore season with 24 points, 13 rebounds and eight blocked shots. She was 10-of-14 from the field.

Junior
India Blyth joined them in double figures with 14, hitting 4-of-9 from the arc.

KCU (3-6, 2-3) had one player in double figures, as junior Bell Sparks had 11 to go with nine rebounds. Senior guard Rebekah Atilano had a fantastic floor game, finishing with seven points, five steals, four rebounds and three assists.

UPike will be back in action on Saturday afternoon, making its first appearance in the Appalachian Wireless Arena as it hosts Truett McConnell. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
