With two outs, Tyler Maynard singled to left and Helton scored all the way from first after an errant throw to the plate. After one inning, UPIKE led 2-1.

Richtter Castillo checked in the game in the eighth and took the hill again in the ninth with the game and the series on the line. After the first two hitters walked, Castillo and the Bears locked TMU down. Castillo struck the next batter out looking, retired the next batter 5-3, then a line out to Cam Revolt ended the game and gave UPIKE the series victory.
