GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The University of Pikeville wrapped up the 2024 regular baseball season on Tuesday, splitting a doubleheader with Georgetown College.

The Bears won the opener 9-1 and dropped the finale 12-7.

The win gave the Bears 30 wins this season, which is the most in the UPike era of the program.

UPike will be back in action next week in the AAC tournament. The Bears will learn their date, time and opponent when the rest of the league completes its season this weekend.

Bears 9, Tigers 1: The Bears got huge games from some veteran players in the win. Senior
Tyler Maynard was 3-for-4 with two doubles, four runs batted in and scored a run, while junior
Austin Gurney had two hits, two RBIs and scored twice.

Ryan Sartin had a pair of hits and scored twice, while senior junior
Cam Revolt had two hits including a double with a run batted in, while senior
Riley Paulino nailed two hits and scored twice.

Noah Helton had a run scored and an RBI, while junior
Hunter Ferguson had a hit and drove one in and sophomore
Noah Brooks added a hit.

Ryan Ratliff went the distance to improve to 4-4 on the season. He scattered four hits while striking out four and walking two.

Tigers 12, Bears 7: The Tigers built leads of 6-0 and 12-4 before settling in with the five-run win.

UPike had nine hits in the game, led by two hits each from the top two hitters in the lineup, Paulino and Revolt. Both doubled, scored twice and drove one in.

Helton added to his all-time school-record hit total with two RBIs and a run scored, while Gurney and Maynard each had a hit and drove one in. Brooks and Sartin each had a hit and scored.

Three pitchers appeared for the Bears, with starter
Caleb Morrison (5-2) getting the decision. He threw 2-1/3 before
Grayson Harris went 1-2/3.
Isaac Berry handled the final two frames.
