ACWORTH, Ga. – The No. 16 University of Pikeville women's golf team wrapped up the fall semester with a second-place finish in the AAC Fall Showcase on Tuesday afternoon.

The tournament was played at the par 72, 5,931-yard Governors Towne Club.

The Bears finished 20 shots behind No. 5 SCAD Atlanta in the 54-hole, 11-team tournament. SCAD fired a tournament best 903 to post the win.

UPike, meanwhile, finished at 923.

"We played well and finished up strong, with our best showing on the final day," said Coach
Nelson Scott, whose team shot rounds of 309 and 312 on Monday before wrapping the tournament up with a final round 302 on Tuesday.

"We have ourselves in good position for the spring. I'm very proud of our team and look forward to continuing the season in a few months."

No. 22 Truett McConnell (Ga.) was third in the field, 18 strokes behind UPike and 38 behind SCAD Atlanta, while No. 24 Milligan (Tenn.) finished fourth, 45 shots out of the lead.

Brenau (Ga.), at 147-over par, rounded out the top five.

Senior
Carly Crooks made the all-tournament team with a fourth-place finish at 12 over par. Her week was highlighted by an even-par round on Tuesday. The field included 64 individuals.

Graduate student
Lauren Holmes recorded another Top 10 finish, shooting 19-over to land tied for 10
th place. Junior
Tayla Howroyd was one stroke behind Holmes and finished tied for 12
th.

Senior
Renee Crooks rebounded with a one-over day on Tuesday to finish tied for 17
th at 27-over par. Freshman
Keira Howroyd was tied for 19
th with a score of 28 over par.

Playing as individuals, sophomore
Laney Sorrell was 23
rd at 30 over, while freshman
Tiffanie Tran finished at 44 over.
