A pair of late goals on Wednesday night by Montreat (N.C.) College resulted in a 2-2 tie of the University of Pikeville at Bob Amos Park.

UPike jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the second half, but the Cavaliers rallied to tie the game.

UPike is now 8-5-3 on the season, 6-2-3 in the AAC. Montreat improved to 4-10-3 overall, 3-7-1 in the league.

The only goal of the first half came in the seventh minute when sophomore forward
Jakub Rus scored on a pass from junior forward Samuel Christancho.

UPike outshot the Cavaliers 10-2, 4-0 on shots on goal, and took the 1-0 lead to the break.

In the second half, Christancho was on the scoring end of the play that put the Bears on top 2-0. It came in the 59
th minute, with the assist going to sophomore midfielder
Bruno Arenal.

Montreat got on the scoreboard in the 68
th minute. Sako Mo found the back of the net on the unassisted goal to make the score 2-1.

In the 82
nd minute, the Cavaliers tied the score on an unassisted goal by Felipe Pereria that resulted in the tie game.

UPike dominated on offense, recording 21 shots to only seven for the Cavs. On goal, the count was eight to three.

The Bears will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they entertain Columbia International (S.C.) University. That game is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
