CLEVELAND, Ga. - University of Pikeville women's soccer suffered their first loss of the season, losing 6-0 on the road to No. 13 Truett McConnell Saturday afternoon.  
TMU turned up the heat in the 19th minute, registering two corner kicks, one header, and a header shot in the 23rd minute. Truett McConnell would continue to mount the pressure and broke through minutes later. Annabel Trauschke, off assists from Abby Sheriff and Saige Peterson, put TMU up 1-0 in the 27th minute.  
Nine minutes after scoring the first goal of the match, Trauschke was credited with an assist on a goal scored by Ariana Marfell. Truett McConnell continued to turn up the heat on UPike, adding a third goal in the 39th minute. TMU lead 3-0 at halftime after outshooting UPike 7-0 in the first 45.  
Truett McConnell picked up where they left off in the first half, putting pressure on UPike early in the second half. TMU broke through again when Isabella Hodson netted a goal in the 60th minute, then scored another four minutes later to go up 5-0. Hodson would score another goal in the 70th minute for the final goal of the match.  
UPike finished the match with two shot attempts (none on goal), both coming off the foot of Gabrielle Ernst. Ernst's first shot attempt came in the 67th minute but sailed high over the crossbar, and the second shot attempt was blocked in the 80th minute.  
UPike are 6-1-3 (4-1-2 AAC) following Saturday's loss to TMU. Coach Shane Taylor's team will travel to Athens, Tenn., Wednesday for a 3:30 road match against (RV) Tennessee Wesleyan.
