The University of Pikeville closed out the home portion of its volleyball season with a 3-1 win over Bryan (Tenn.) College on Saturday morning.
 
UPike is now 17-11 on the season, 14-3 in the AAC and finished 8-2 at home.
 
Sophomore 
Olivia Chapman led four Bears in double figures with 16 kills. Senior 
Gracey Lovgren followed with 12, while senior 
Alondra Ayende and sophomore 
Cassidy Rivas had 11 each.
 
Junior 
Chloie Brinton had 51 assists in the win. The Bears had six service aces, with Lovgren having three of them.
 
Junior 
Lanie Hawley had eight blocks, with seven of them being assists. Chapman had seven with one solo.
 
Sophomore 
Ashtyn Filkins led the Bears with 16 digs.
 
UPike will end the regular season with two straight road matches. It begins on Friday when it travels to Barbourville to play Union Commonwealth University at 6:30 p.m.
 
Bears 25, Lions 18: This set was close early, with UPike leading by three points only one time before a quick three-point run made the lead 12-8. The Bears finally pulled away with five straight points. Two service aces by Lovgren and a kill each by Hawley and Van Dyke made the lead 23-15. A block by Ayende and Chapman, who had five kills in the set, closed it out.
 
Lions 26, Bears 24: The teams traded runs early on, with the Lions scoring four straight to take a 6-3 lead before the Bears put up three straight to tie it. The score was tight the enrire way before the Bears went up 21-16. But the Lions turned it on and outscored the Bears 10-3 the rest of the way to get the win.
 
Bears 25, Lions 18: Neither team led by more than three points before an Ayende kill put UPike on top 18-14. Leading 20-18, the Bears scored the final six points, with Rivas recording two kills and Chapman one, with Hawley and Brinton teaming up on a block.
 
Bears 25, Lions 21: The Bears had an early 7-1 run with Lovgren having two kills and four others adding one to take an early 8-3 lead. Five more points, with two blocks that Hawley was a part of, pushed the lead to 14-6. But the Lions then scored eight of the next 10 points to cut the lead to 16-14. Three straight by Bryan pulled it within three at 24-21, but a Hawley kill closed the door.
