BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – The University of Pikeville earned a hard-fought 3-1 win over Union Commonwealth University on Friday night in AAC action.

UPike won 25-13, 11-25, 25-21, 25-18.

The night was highlighted by junior
Chloie Brinton, who had 42 assists on Friday night, averaging 10.5 per set. Her effort gives her 1,002 assists on the season.

She is the only player in the AAC with more than 1,000 this season and became one of only 14 in the nation this season.
Â
The win moved the Bears to 18-11 on the season and 15-3 in league play. They've now won 10 consecutive games, all of them against conference opponents.

Union Commonwealth fell to 10-18 on the season, 10-8 in the conference.

The win also gave UPike a season sweep of the Bulldogs. The Bears picked up a 3-2 win on Sept. 26 in Pikeville.

Cassidy Rivas led the Bears at the net with 15 kills. She was joined in double digits by senior
Gracey Lovgren with 11. Senior
Alondra Ayende finished with nine.

The Bears had seven service aces, with junior
Lanie Hawley recording three of them.

Ashtyn Filkins paced the defensive effort, recording 17 digs. Brinton and sophomore
Raegan Mullins added eight apiece.

Olivia Chapman had two blocks for the Bears, one solo and one assist. Lovgren had two block assists in the win.

UPike will finish the regular season on Saturday morning in Knoxville, Tenn., when it plays Johnson University. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m.
