MARIETTA, Ga. - University of Pikeville wrestling wrapped up their season at the 2025 Appalachian Athletic Conference Championships this weekend.
Brandon Didat scored ten team points for the Bears after taking fifth in the 125. Didat received a bye in round one but was defeated 10-9 in the quarterfinals by Gabriel Tellez. Didat received a bye in the first round of consolation, then won 17-8 over Caleb Haynes from St. Andrews. In round three of consolation, Didat was defeated via fall by St. Thomas's Conner Hueck. Didat's day ended with a 16-3, major decision victory over WVU-Tech's Jayden Rouse in the fifth-place match.
In the 133 class, Ethan Croom finished sixth and scored nine team points. Croom fell in round one to Keyshaun Taylor of Brewton-Parker but won his first consolation match via tech fall over Keiser's Trevon Hawkins-Robertson. Croom followed that win up with a win via fall over St. Thomas's Grady Bryant. In the consolation semifinals, Croom was defeated via fall by Ayden Rader of St. Andrews and then lost to Jordan Escarra of St. Thomas in the fifth-place match.
Calvin Moon was defeated 7-3 in the opening round of the 141 by Mikia Brinson of Montreat. Moon's day ended after a loss to WVU-Tech's Corbyn Cunningham.
In the 149, Hayden Canady lost via tech fall by Life's Pat Gould in the opening round. In the consolation round one, Canady's day ended after a loss to Blaze Garcia of Keiser University.
Chase Price was defeated by St. Thomas's Shemar Barthelus via tech fall in round one but bounced back in round two of consolation. Price defeated Nicholas Vincent of WVU-Tech but was defeated by Reinhardt's Nathan Napolitano in consolation round three.
In the 174, Randall West was defeated via fall by Nicholas DeSilva of WVU-Tech and was eliminated in consolation after a loss to Keiser's Shane Brakke.
ReGinald Whyte opened the heavyweight 285 match with a 7-3 loss to Caleb Pruitt of Reinhardt. Whyte's day ended with a loss via fall to Phillip Terrell of Truett McConnell.
