COLUMBIA, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson College scored five times in the seventh and added three more in the bottom of the ninth to rally for a 9-8 win over the University of Pikeville on Tuesday afternoon.

UPike (8-10) posted two runs each in four of the first five innings to build an 8-1 lead before the Blue Raiders began their rally.

The Bears scored two in the first thanks to consecutive bases loaded hit by pitches. In the third, RBI singles by
Francis Subero and
Riley Paulino made it 4-0.

The lead moved to 6-0 in the fourth thanks to a sacrifice fly by
Cam Revolt and an RBI single by Williams Kelley. In the fifth,
Marques Richards singled in
Austin Gurney and
Garren Gledhill delivered
Noah Brooks on a sacrifice fly to make it 8-0.

Lindsey (2-14) got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fifth when Jackson Steele hit a solo home run. In the seventh, they posed a five spot to pull within two. The key hit was a two-run single by Andres Duran.

In the ninth, Tray Price blasted a home run to make the score 8-7. Bryce Slider tied the game with an RBI single, and Steele wrapped up the rally with a game-winning single of his own.

The Bears pounded out 14 hits in the loss. Brooks led the way with three safeties, including a double and a triple and scored three times. Paulino, Kelley, Gledhill and
Mason Melton had two hits each.

Gurney, Richards, and Subero had one hit apiece.

Duran and Steele had two hits and two RBIs each for the Blue Raiders.

Riley Hartline was the last of five pitchers for the Bears and took the decision.
Isaac Berry threw the first six innings, striking out three and scattering three hits while allowing only one run.

The Bears will be back in action on Friday as they begin a three-game series at Kentucky Christian University. The game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. in Grayson.
