DAYTON, Tenn. – Bryan College picked up a pair of AAC wins on Saturday afternoon, winning two games over the University of Pikeville by identical scores of 9-1.

UPike is now 14-27 on the season, 7-19 in league play. The Bears will close out the regular season on Monday, visiting Bluefield (Va.) University for a doubleheader. The first pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Lions 9, Bears 1: Bryan jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first, and scored six times in the final three innings to win it in six.

UPike's lone run came in the third inning. Right fielder
Dani Crum had a one-out double and scored when shortstop
Sam Case singled.

Crum's double was the only extra-base hit among the six the Bears had in the opener. In addition to Case's run-scoring single, centerfielder
Addison Johnson had two hits, while catcher
Maddie Horn and third-baseman
Clara Blair both had a hit.

Lions 9, Bears 1: After being held scoreless in the first, Bryan scored in each of the final four innings to pull out the win.

The Bears again managed to score in the third frame. It came thanks to three singles. Crum had a one-out hit and moved to third when Case singled. She scored on a hit by first baseman
Chloe Calton.
