LANSING, Mich. - University of Pikeville archery wrapped up their 2024-25 season with a third-place finish at the 2025 Hotel Planner USA Archery Collegiate Target Nationals Sunday afternoon.
In the elimination round, Olivia Hale competed in the women's recurve and finished fourth. The Bears' lone medal in the ranking round came from Emma Willis who shot a 332 in round one and a 316 in round two for a total score of 648 and a fourth-place finish. Willis was also on the mixed fixed pins team, along with Tate Jobe, who took silver. John Shelby Stephens and Kennadi Mayer also earned a silver medal in the mixed barebow team.
In the official team rounds the trio of Emma Willis, Cassie Haldeman, and Hunter Tunstill earned a gold medal in the women's fixed pins after putting up 212 points. Caden Jones, Tate Jobe, and Nate Harper earned silver in the men's fixed pins, then Kennadi Mayer, Emma Terry, and Allison Collinsworth also earned silver in the women's barebow. Rounding out the men's barebow with a fourth-place finish in the men's barebow were John Shelby Stephens, Kyle Sturgill, and Heath Dingus.
As a team, the Bears collected one gold medal, four silver medals, and three fourth-place medals for 72.0 total team points and finished in third place. UPIKE finished second amongst NAIA teams competing at nationals.
