Union Commonwealth University scored two goals in the first 13 minutes and made them stand up in a 2-0 win over the University of Pikeville on Wednesday night at Bob Amos Park.

It was UPike's first loss in league play, dropping their overall record to 4-4-1 while being 3-1-1 in the conference. Union Commonwealth is now 5-2-1 on the season 4-0-1 in the AAC.

The Bulldogs went to the half with a 2-0 lead. The first goal came in the sixth minute when Jordan Blake scored unassisted.

In the 13
th minute, Blake found Zak Hardman to make the score 2-0.

UPike, meanwhile, had four shots on goal, all turned away by Union keeper Gabriel Mendoza. They came by junior

Oliver Fausel, sophomore
Jakub Rus and freshman Sam Reinks.

Freshman keeper Alejandro Iglesais recorded three saves in the loss.

UPike will return to action on Saturday when it travels to play Spartanburg Methodist (S.C.) University in a match slated to start at 3 p.m.
