All four seniors reached double figures in their final home appearance, but it was a sophomore who stole the show as the University of Pikeville knocked off Montreat (N.C.) College 98-73 on Saturday afternoon.

Senior
Bradley Bunch fired in 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds, while senior
Keian Worrix finished with 16 points and six assists. Seniors
Keynan Cutlip fired in 14 and
LA Walker had 11 markers to go with four assists and three steals.

But it was sophomore
Rylee Samons who put his stamp on the regular-season finale, scoring 20 points while missing only one of six three-pointers, and that was just in the first half.

The Pikeville native finished with 22 points and five rebounds.

Finally, freshman post
Zion Blevins tossed in1 5 points and grabbed six rebounds as six Bears reached double figures in the win.

The story of the game was the shooting for the Bears, who fired in 56.1 percent overall and hit 18 for 34 (52.9 percent) from the arc.

Four Cavaliers were in double figures on the day. Junior guard RJ Manginello led the way with 21. Senior Mike Wade followed with 14 points and a team-high eight rebounds.

Sophomore Lawrence Cole and junior Aden Taylor had 11 points each.

UPike finished the regular season 25-3 overall, 18-1 in the AAC. They'll ride an eight-game win streak into next week's conference tournament. They'll learn their opponent on Wednesday when the first round is contested.

While they don't know their opponent, they do know they'll take the court at 10:15 a.m. Thursday at the MeadowView Marriott Conference Resort and Convention Center.

Montreat is 15-12 on the season, 10-9 in the league.
