Game Recap: Men's Basketball | | Rick Bentley

Senior Day sees six in double figures

All four seniors reached double figures in their final home appearance, but it was a sophomore who stole the show as the University of Pikeville knocked off Montreat (N.C.) College 98-73 on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Bradley Bunch fired in 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds, while senior Keian Worrix finished with 16 points and six assists. Seniors Keynan Cutlip fired in 14 and LA Walker had 11 markers to go with four assists and three steals.

But it was sophomore Rylee Samons who put his stamp on the regular-season finale, scoring 20 points while missing only one of six three-pointers, and that was just in the first half.

The Pikeville native finished with 22 points and five rebounds.

Finally, freshman post Zion Blevins tossed in1 5 points and grabbed six rebounds as six Bears reached double figures in the win.

The story of the game was the shooting for the Bears, who fired in 56.1 percent overall and hit 18 for 34 (52.9 percent) from the arc.
