The University of Pikeville reached a pair of milestones on Monday afternoon as it swept two from NCAA Div. II Bluefield State (W.Va.) University by scores of 5-4 and 10-1.

The Bears now have 25 wins on the season along with 13 losses. It's the most wins since 2019 when they had 26 wins.

Also, sophomore
Dani Crum reached 100 hits on her young career.

The Bears will be back in action on Tuesday, wrapping up the regular season with two against Truett-McConnell (Ga.) University. First pitch is at 1 p.m. at Paul Butcher Field.

Chloy Creech, first baseman
Claudia Maness and pitcher
Chloe Calton. Crum and Calton each doubled, drove one in and scored one and Creech had an RBI.

Calton went the distance in the circle, improving to 5-6 on the season. She struck out seven in the win.

Bears 10, Big Blue 1, 5 innings: The Bears scored in each of their four turns at the plate to build a 10-run lead en route to the win.

UPike scored 10 runs on only seven hits, taking advantage of six walks and three Bluefield State errors. The Bears had seven different players record hits.

Carter had a double, the only extra-base hit of the game.

Crum, recording her 100
th career hit, and Dixon each scored a run and drove one in. Shortstop
Alexis Emery had a hit, drove in two and scored. Dunlap drove in three on her hit.

Maness had a hit, drove in a run and scored twice, while pinch hitter
Abby Hess added a hit.

Chloe Bryant (7-3) pitched all five innings, recording nine strikeouts and allowing only two hits.
