KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The NAIA has released its list of Scholar-Athletes for the spring sports.
The list includes those student-athletes playing baseball, golf, softball, tennis, track and field, women's beach volleyball and men's volleyball. Nationally, 5,502 student-athletes were honored.
The University of Pikeville had a total of 53 on the spring list. Of those, 11 were on the school's golf teams.
To qualify as an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport, and have attended their institution for at least one full year. This year, the list features an impressive number of student-athletes who have met these rigorous standards.

The women's golf team was represented by

Lauren Holmes,
Tayla Howroyd,
Sophia Sims,
Madelyn Smith,
Laney Sorrell and Katelyn Stepp.
The men's golf team recently completed the 2025-26 season with four tournament wins. During the season, the team broke 17 school records.
The women's golf team is currently ranked No. 13 in the country and is awaiting word on its qualification for the NAIA national tournament. Should it qualify, it would be the first time in school history that a golf team has made the field.
The 31
st annual women's golf national championship will be held May 19-22 at Eagle Crest Golf Club in Ypsilanti, Mich.
