WALESKA, Ga. – The Appalachian Athletics Conference has announced the honorees for the 2025-26 season in women's golf, and the University of Pikeville is well represented.

Senior
Carly Crooks was named first-team all-conference, while graduate student
Lauren Holmes and senior
Renee Crooks were named to the second-team.
Â
Freshman
Keira Howroyd was named the Newcomer of the Year, while the school had a representative on the Champions of Character team and tied for a league high with nine players on the All-Academic Team.

Carly Crooks, from Toronto, was on the five-player first-team after shooting a total of 466 in six rounds of play in the conference meets. Her average was 77.67.

Holmes is a native of Lawrenceburg, Ky. For the six rounds of tournament play, she shot 468, averaging 78.

Renee Crooks, also from Toronto, shot 471 in the two conference tournaments, giving her an average of 78.5. Renee also made the all-tournament team in the 2026 AAC Women's Golf Championship, where she finished fourth with a three-round score of 228.

Howroyd is a freshman from Edenvale, South Africa. She was named newcomer of the year after posting five rounds of play in the two league tournaments with a total score of 414, averaging 82.8.

Tayla Howroyd represented the Bears on the Champions of Character Team. She is a junior from Edenvale, South Africa. Those honored on the Champions of Character Team were nominated by their coaches based on their leadership on and off campus, as well as their demonstration of the five core character values of the NAIA.

UPike had nine players make the All-Academic Team. Those honored are student-athletes who are a sophomore or higher, have a minimum of 3.25 grade-point average and have completed at least one semester at their institution.
