Freshman quarterback Caden Henson threw five touchdown passes and ran for another as the University of Pikeville knocked off Andrew (Ga.) College 42-7 on Saturday afternoon at the W.C. Hambley Athletics Complex.
 
Henson was 22 for 37 for 218 yards as the Bears improved to 2-1 on the season. In addition, the Germantown, Ohio, product ran for 75 yards on only nine carries.
 
UPike was quick to jump on the scoreboard, as quarterback Caden Henson kept for the final three yards of an eight-play, 62-yard drive. Sophomore Isaas Smith was good on the extra-point to make it 7-0 with 11:40 remaining in the first quarter.
 
Henson hooked up with senior tight end Grant Scott for an eight-yard touchdown pass with 7:45 to play in the first. Smith ran the lead to 14-0.
 
Before the half, the Bears found the end zone again. This time Henson hit sophomore receiver Demarcus Calhoun for a 12-yard touchdown. Smith's kick made it 21-0 with 7:52 left in the half, and that was the lead they took to the half.
 
The Bears scored with 9:05 left in the third period when Henson found Ty Perkins in the back of the end zone from six-yards away. It was the third score of the season by Perkins, and Smith's boot made it 28-0.
 
Henson's fourth touchdown pass went to the fourth UPike wideout. This time it was Deajaun McDougle, who beat one defender and tightroped down the sideline for a 42-yard touchdown.
 
It was both the longest pass of the season by Henson and reception by McDougle, and the PAT made it 35-0 with 5:55 left in the third.
 
Before the period ended, Henson found Perkins again, this time from 20 yards out, with 1:25 to play to make the score 42-0.
 
Early in the fourth, the Fighting Tigers got on the scoreboard. An eight-play, 76-yard drive ended when Jordan Washington scored on a 13-yard run. The kick by Aaron Bates made it 42-7 with 13:20 to play.
 
Henson's favorite target was McDougle, who caught eight passes for 92 yards.
 
UPike threw for 260 yards and ran for 124, while the defense held the Fighting Tigers to 77 yards on the ground and 177 in the air.
 
Junior linebacker Levi Evans and junior end Jaden Mosley led the Bears with five tackles each. Two Bears, sophomore Nick Butler and freshman Jamere Biggs, had interceptions.
 
UPike will back in action next Saturday, visiting Cumberland (Tenn.) University for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
