Casey Hamilton

Casey Hamilton is entering his first season as UPIKE's head baseball coach. 

Hamilton, an Ashland, Ky. native, joined UPIKE after serving the 2019 season as the associate head coach at NCAA D-II Kentucky Wesleyan and spent the previous two seasons as an assistant coach.

During Hamilton's three years at KWC, the baseball program achieved a 91-67 record and reached three straight Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC) Tournament finals, including the program's first ever conference title in 2017. He also coached 33 All-GMAC players, two All-Americans, and the 2019 GMAC Pitcher of the Year.

In conjunction to his Kentucky Wesleyan position, Hamilton was also the head coach of the Owensboro Oilers of the Ohio Valley Collegiate Baseball League. In 2016, Hamilton led the Oilers to a 24-18 record after posting a 10-30 record the year prior.

Hamilton has also previously coached at Vero Beach (FL) High School, West Jessamine High School, Olney Central College, Western Kentucky University, and other summer college teams.

Hamilton received his Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science from WKU in 2008, spending three seasons on the baseball team. A three-year letterwinner, Hamilton started every game all three years and ranks fifth in the record books in doubles. Hamilton also earned a spot on the 2005 Sunbelt All-Tournament team.

Prior to WKU, Hamilton spent one year at Mississippi State University where he was named to the SEC Scholar Athlete Honor Roll.  Hamilton finished third in the SEC tournament while playing in the 2004 NCAA Regional at Georgia Tech.

Hamilton is a native of Ashland, Ky. and is married to his wife, Alix, and has one daughter, Kennedy.
