Will Sheffield is entering his first season as UPIKE’s pitching coach. Sheffield has helped work with AUM pitchers since the end of the 2019 season. Prior to his stint as a volunteer student assistant on the Warhawk staff, the Carrollton, Ga. native played one season at AUM, and two seasons under head coach Joe Jordan at Southern Union State Community College in Wadley, Ala.

Following Tommy John surgery in 2016 while at Southern Union, Sheffield served as an assistant coach for the Bison in 2017 while recovering. Sheffield helped lead them to a 34-18 record, and an appearance in the Alabama Community College Conference State Tournament held in Ozark, Ala.

Sheffield received his Bachelor of Art degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Auburn University at Montgomery in 2020 and is pursuing his Master of Business Management degree at the University of Pikeville. Sheffield was born on Nov. 3, 1996 to parents Matt and Lesa Sheffield. He has a younger sister, Ivie.
