Jack Hopkins is in his first season as a graduate assistant with the UPIKE football team heading into the 2017 season.

Hopkins played in the secondary for three seasons at UPIKE from 2013-2016, collecting 186 tackles in 25 games played which is the ninth most stops in program history. Hopkins has his best season as a senior in 2016, tallying a team-best 91 tackles, including 4.5 for a loss and an interception.

The Brandywine, Md., native attended Bishop McNamara High School before enrolling at St. Anselm (N.H.) as a freshman as a member of the baseball and football team. A utility player and pitcher on the diamond, Hopkins decided after a year in New England to transfer to the Bears and focus solely on football.

Hopkins is a two-time NAIA Scholar-Athlete and was twice named First Team All Mid-South Conference for his accomplishments on the field. Academic All-MSC honors also came his way twice in 2015 and 2016.

As a graduate assistant with UPIKE, Hopkins will stay where he is most comfortable and coach the defensive backs,
